The Jornal Brasileiro de Pneumologia (Brazilian Journal of Pulmonology) is focused on the publication of scientific papers regarding Pulmonology and related areas. Manuscripts may be submitted in Portuguese, Spanish or English. Upon being accepted, articles originally written in Portuguese and Spanish will be translated into English, and the English version will be available on this site. Original articles, case reports, brief communications and letters to the editor, among others, will be considered for publication. Although review articles are written upon request, if spontaneously submitted, they may be considered for publication subject to the approval of the Editorial Board. We ask the authors interested in submitting a review article to do so only after consultation with the Editor-in-Chief.
Submitted articles that present significant errors in methodology or that are not in accordance with the editorial priorities of the journal may be directly rejected by the Editorial Board, with no recourse. All other manuscripts will be assessed through peer review. The Jornal Brasileiro de Pneumologia adopts a policy of anonymity in the assessment process, both for authors and reviewers. The Journal Instructions for Authors must be strictly followed during manuscript preparation. Failure to comply with these norms will result in the manuscript being returned for corrections, thereby delaying the review process.
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively online, through the Sistema de Gestão de Publicações (SGP, Publishing Management System). All manuscripts must be accompanied by a Cover Letter signed by all authors and by a Conflict of Interest Statement, based on the models presented on this site. These documents must be sent to the journal by mail or fax.
